Discussion Board How To
The scoop on using the Discussion Board. |
| |
We believe that participants who
frequent our Discussion Board should use it as a starting point for their due diligence, not as
the sole decision point. There is no substitute for your own mathematical and factual analysis.
Making financial decisions strictly on information derived from our Discussion Board begs foolishness,
i.e., it's unWise.
Remember, the function of our Discussion Board, indeed most message boards, is the free-flowing
exchange of ideas and insights; sometimes, but not always, it is also includes the posting of
facts and figures. Much can be learned by distinguishing between the two.
Finally, information obtained from the Discussion Board does not constitute any tax, investment
or legal advice. We encourage you to research and educate yourself from many sources.

Please note that due to the inordinate amount of
Spam utilizing free email accounts we are currently not accepting the registration of many free email accounts such as Hotmail and Yahoo.

Search Feature
It's easy to search previous posts for specific topics. You can perform both a simple search and an advanced search of this Board
via the Search
link which is located in the upper right hand section on each page of this Board.
Email Notification
This Board can notify you when a new reply is added to a topic. Many users find this useful to keep up to date on topics without the
need to view the Board to check for new messages. To do this, simply click on the 'Track This Topic' link found at the top and bottom
of any topic. When you click this link, the topic will be added to your subscriptions that are managed from your control panel. Please
note that to avoid multiple emails being sent to your email address, you will only get notified once per day of new replies.
Recovering Lost or Forgotten Passwords
Security is a big feature on this Board, and to that end, all passwords are encrypted when you register. This means that we cannot
email your password to you as we hold no record of your 'encrypted' password. You can however, apply to have your password reset.
To do this, click on the Lost Password Link
found on the log in page. Further instruction is available from there.
Moderators
This site will delete posts it deems inappropriate. We can also delete posts upon
request of poster. To contact the forum moderator click
here.
Censoring Posts
Unsuitable words are automatically censored and replaced with random symbols.
My Controls
Once you register, a 'My Control' link will appear to the right of the log in area. Your control panel is your own private Board console.
You can change how the Board looks and feels as well as your own information from here. For more information about this feature
Posting
Please always use the Board to post and reply. Do not email questions and responses directly to
individuals using this forum. By posting questions on the forum, the writer benefits from several
different points of view. As they say, several heads are better than one, especially Wise ones.
But the most important reason for using the forum, as opposed to private email, is so others can
learn from the exchanges posted on the Discussion Board.

Using cookies is optional, but strongly recommended. Cookies are used to track topics, showing you which topics

A Few Closing Notes
 |
| |
 |
No one person is a financial expert in the real sense of the word. It is impossible
for any one individual to be fully informed about every single aspect of the financial world. In fact
it has been reported that the IRS is wrong with its advice more than 25% of the time.
 |
| |
 |
Constant changes in retirement plans like the 403(b) and 457(b) make understanding them a real
challenge even for the experts!

Be specific because it will aid in the answering of questions. The following may help
with your posts: your age, specific companies you are investing with or are interested in, whether you
are invested in or are interested in an annuity, variable annuity (mutual funds sold through insurance
companies), or a pure mutual fund (sold directly by a mutual fund company). |
